This is working!

U2 somewhere, with 8 votes!

Ooooh, I hope this system works. Sparks' bids now have risen to 227! Has anybody else from the D.C. metro area bid? At this point, I'm willing to travel elsewhere in the U.S., but a local show sure would be great! |

Just saw this on Owngig, com. Dare we hope?
Gig announcement due shortly
September 17th, 2008
We are a matter of days away now from making an announcement on our first gig. I can’t reveal who the artist is just yet but they’re in our chart.
It won’t be David Bowie however as we heard back from his management company to say he sadly won’t be touring for a while. They liked the idea of Owngig though, so who knows maybe some time in the future!
More soon… |

Most probably yes.
Last month there was an interview in La Repubblica, where Richard Davies (the founder of Owngig) said that the first private gig, with Sparks, is on track. I forgot about the interview, and no wonder why I forgot.

I asked Mr. Davies if there's a chance that the next chosen band will be Sparks. And he said: "We are definitely working on trying to get Sparks over to the UK, though as yet haven't managed to work something out. There's clearly a huge demand for the band here, so fingers crossed we can persuade them to come over." _________________ Entertainment or art - one should know from the start |
