I mentioned to Russell at the Borders signing that I had come over from Dublin, and that it'd be nice if they could come over to Ireland later in the year. He said that it was their plan to try to play a show here.
I'd prefer a Dublin show to an appearance at the Electric Picnic festival (which has sold out, but has promised more acts to be announced), not least because you'd get a full set.
Vicar Street would be killer, and I think Aiken are more likely to bring them over than MCD anyway, so fingers crossed.

Hamburg sounds more likely but i think they shouldnt just play high up north in germany, so if you read this, sparks management
one gig in hamburg(north), one in munich or stuttgart(south) would be great!
think of the poor students who cant afford a travel from the very south to hamburg _________________ |

Aaaaaah, don't say that, you'll jinx it - Fair point though. The tickets should really go on sale now-ish (July?) if there are any gigs on the horizon... _________________ - My word, she's from Germany - |

or make lots of fans happy and come to LILLE, ice-trains & eurostar connection to Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands
Brussel would also be a good alternative.
or Eindhoven/the Netherlands if near a cheapflights airport, close to Belgium and Germany too. _________________ "Somebody's been putting pineapple juice in my pineapple juice!"

Er... how about NYC again? One show every second album doesn't seem too much to ask (though I'd suggest an indoor venue this time... the early curfew at Central Park was quite disappointing). |

Exeter , Plymouth or even TORQUAY !! ( The south west of England is quite handy for the mainland European fans too )...but I'll settle for Glasgow , it's worth the 800 mile round trip ! _________________ C'est la vie , c'est la mort , say no more , no no more ! |

EVE, stoke is a good call, home of a Premiership football club! But more the crafty cockney than the Britannia!(went to the Victoria ground a few times though) Anywhere in uk will do me , I will be there, after missing so many in london, due to bad decision making. I will go anywhere now and miss work if i have to. Life is not a rehearsal! Might be at the Brit! 2nd May 2009! _________________ Don't let it get me! |

Newspage says that ECOTD will be released in germany soon and different magazines will contain interviews with our favourite band soon(dont worry i will get them all)
sparks once replied to my questions on myspace, the response said that german gigs are planned "in the near future"
so i still hope to get to see them soon.. _________________ |

I think it was Jill that dug up some artikel, i think it was Dutch, where Russell was quoted saying something a long the lines of 'a real tour later this year after the festivals'. So can't be long before details must be reveiled if these concerts are to be taken place still this year, and not next year. _________________ "Somebody's been putting pineapple juice in my pineapple juice!"

@ Eddy: Yes, on kindamusik.net - pretty recent, from Aug.1. He seemed sure about that, didn't say "we hope" or "maybe there'll be a tour".
@ Tommy: On the Sparks last.fm page (who is maintaining it?) there's a weird link to this event in Berlin (see the poster )
http://www.last.fm/event/665200
but actually it's about a German band with the same name - go figure!
