PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAASEE do something about the sound which is TERRIBLE!!!
CD Pulse was poor, but justin.tv is even worse!
What's the point of an OK-ish picture and terrible sound?? Pulling Rabbits was a JOKE and tonight (Music That You Can Dance Do) is even worse! I am not going to watch any more tonight because it is just SOOO bad.
EVERYONE is complaining about it - it sounds like Russell is underwater.

I can only afford to go to nine of the shows. Seriously though, what is the point of a webstream that sounds like crap? Even no picture and reasonable sound would be better than what we've had so far. Don't blame me for voicing what the chat room on justin.tv was FULL OF during Pulling Rabbits/MTYCDT... I agree it's not a "right" for me to see Sparks - but on the other hand, what's the point of Sue Harris announcing a live webcast that looks and sounds like crap?

I understand your concerns lazysunbathers, and you have every right to express them. Unfortunately, the CD Pulse site has crashed twice, and the only option would appear to use justin.tv. So, we could have no streaming or an inferior streaming - and I'm glad just to see at least something! This is an absolute bonus for people like me who can't attend the gigs, and afterall, for those who can't stand the sound quality, they can always turn it off. Anyway, hopefully things will be back to normal tonight.

She was doing her best to compensate for the fact that CD pulse unexpectedly crashed. Her effort really only deserves praise.
I have to say I find Sparks fans can at times be the most puerile people on the planet (I'm not aiming that at you). I'm just going by the chat rooms and the gigs I attended. Which is hard to believe given how adept their music is. |

Physicality-you are on the button about the chatroom.Made me remember why the Sparks chatroom had to be closed down.Shame about a mindless minority spoiling it for everyone. |

I too would rather have these broadcasts than nothing. And I appreciate the effort made to allow people this opportunity. I think it goes without saying that only a fan (and a pretty devoted one at that) would get anything out of these low quality broadcasts. Admittedly it's probably only fans who tune into them in the first place but heaven forefend these broadcasts being someone's first experience of Sparks live.

I haven't noticed Sparks fans being any more puerile than the next lot of fans. I can imagine the guff and historonics that appear on other fan forums tops anything I've read here. But fans can be a funny lot at times. Some seem to think that they are owed for being a fan rather than that they owe the band for the years of joy they have given them.
Just to keep this thread on topic I should also mention that I've just gone to the cdpulse site (6pm GMT) and it's up and running Hopefully this means no one will be turning in their Sparks' fan club membership in protest just yet _________________

There is a third choice: good quality non-live streaming.
I do notice that cdpulse looks different now its back, and I do wonder if its problems were an 'upgrade' that went wrong. If so, it was awful timing for us. |

Just had a listen to the sound checks going on at cdpulse and yes, it's back to normal - stopping and starting every few seconds. I too appreciate the effort made to allow people this opportunity and yes something is better than nothing - doesn't stop it from being exasperating though.
I can't disagree with you Lazysunbathers. Haven't been this frustrated since I had a boyfriend with erectile problems. |
