I can't let a day go by without listening to HYL, it is an absolute masterpiece and so utterly unique. As one reviewer said, nobody else right now is making music like this.
I also absolutely adore Lil' B but HYL is the album which got me hooked on Sparks with its sheer musicality and genius lyrics, so I would place is just above Lil' Beethoven - which is also genius but doesn't "grab" you in the way that HYL does right from the first listen. _________________ http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=678905447 |

A half year on and i've listen to both albums now about equally and i still prefer Lil'B to HYL. I still find it 'easier' to listen too. I do feel R&R have made a step forward with HYL and as a whole that album is smarter but not that much funnier?
It's difficult to pinpoint why i prefer the one more to the other. _________________ "Somebody's been putting pineapple juice in my pineapple juice!"

I think Hello Young Lovers takes it for me. Little Beethoven was stunningly original when it came out (and still is) but I think Hello Young Lovers is a better more rounded album.
In fact Hello Young Lovers is my favourite Sparks album since Indiscreet
