I would give MAD! a solid 7/10.
It's such a nice surprise because I confess I was getting prepared to be slightly disappointed after a couple of single releases that I didn't enjoy as much as I expected. I loved "Do Things My Own Way" and "Drowned In A Sea Of Tears", but "Jansport Backpack" and "My Devotion" were definitely not my favourites (they're not bad at all, don't get me wrong, just not their greatest work in my opinion).
Finally, I'm very excited about the result, it's a beautifully produced album with brilliant ideas all along!
My favourite songs are "I-405 Rules" and "Hit Me, Baby", but many others are definitely worth listening again and again: and that's exactly my plan for the next few weeks or so. |

John Miles - "Music". 10/10 (11/10 for the rock section of it). _________________ 'You'll be in the future if you don't do nothing foolish' - Ron Mael

Loverevolution by Ian Nice a cracking little discovery, less Cockney Rebel (IYKYK) more a bluesy blend of Springsteen, Lou Reed and Iggy Pop ( as shown on the The Passenger cover). One short song called Mum is very simplistically raw in its poignancy, the pain and grief are almost tangible.
Not a bad song on the album I’d be hard pressed to nominate a favourite track! |

Just to say I was saddened by the sudden death of Ian Nice, we had some sweet chats over the internet, I’m glad I managed to get hold of at least one album ( see above) of his…
Ronnie, his eldest son, is still very involved in the music industry, I suppose having Steve Harley as an uncle and Ian being an accomplished musician, singer/songwriter as a dad…the talent is in the genes! |

Quite possibly song of the year...at least it would be if it was the year of the cat.
Apparently this is new and it's brilliant.
