I've noticed that FM are continuing to shamelessly exploit their rights to the first two LPs with yet further coloured vinyl releases. There must be a point at which the market (in this case, Sparks collectors) is exhausted. I'm not biting this time, particularly as I've just spent a whacking £220 on the forthcoming Magazine 6 LP boxset!

I wish you hadn't said that there is a Magazine box set.

I seem to be divesting in certain areas (books, money) and investing in vinyl and box sets. Even though the Kinks are my favorite band, I have given up on their reissues because there are so many of the same thing with some alternate version of something on them.

Exactly Henry2nd (we had Henry the 8th so if your the 2nd you gotta be a very, very old guy....lol...).
As a collector of vinyl all my life I bought every Sparks release going so I have a huge collection. It's great that these 2 phenomenal albums are given the recognition of being 50 yrs old. They haven't dated & still sound incredible. Personally, I have everything already but for new fans it's a great way to start their collection of Sparks on vinyl.
To think it was 50 yrs ago watching them on Top of the Pops, Russell all in red singing 'Never Turn Your Back On Mother Earth' & then the brilliant craziness of 'Something For The Girl With Everything' as the follow up are shows totally imprinted in my mind. Thank heavens for YouTube.
The record companies rely on Fan dedication so try to squeeze what they can out of us but there is a limit & these collections aren't cheap so think twice before falling into the fan trap.
