Not long to go now! Any ideas for a pub to meet up in before the London show? _________________ "but we can hear what others can't hear..." |

I'll borrow this information from a post about the FFS gig in 2015 -
[quote="MarkRae"]The Bull & Gate is, quite literally, next door to the venue and is a usual meeting place for gigs there. However, it's not a huge pub which means it gets absolutely rammed.

The Assembly House is just over the road and closer to Kentish Town station, which is where I tend to go.

And there is indeed a pub called The Pineapple which is about a five minute walk away. I know this pub very well and they typically have a decent selection of real ale.
From memory, I had lunch in The Assembly House. I recall meeting the crowd in the Bull and Gate and it duly filled for the pre show drink. Both places are recalled as roomy, quality pubs. Some fans couldn't resist disappearing to The Pineapple, and I believe they really liked it. |

Comments from elsewhere are that the Assembly House is more roomy and cheaper. Shall we meet there then? |

Good to hear from you, and that sounds like a plan! I think I can remember the place from 2015. _________________ "but we can hear what others can't hear..." |

I got a taxi booked for 4pm and hope to arrive outside the forum about 5pm or just after. I will have a chat with anyone in the queue like i did last year at Shepherds Bush. Then i will look for somewhere to eat before the gig. I may check out the Assembly House to see anyone wearing stripe tops. I will be on my own so not keen to walk into pubs on my own. |

Yes, they are generally likeable the enthusiasts that queue early to see that R&R are a bit more than borderline attractive from a far. There's also cafes nearby for refreshments, and I'm sure they'd look after you. However, waiting even amidst the forecast sunshine is a test of patience.
Happy to offer to meet you outside in the street to welcome you in to the Assembly House, if you are anxious about entering the pub alone. Will pm my mobile number should you decide to join us. At the back of five, only a few of us are likely to have reached the pub so it won't be daunting. Although pubs are generally venues for meeting, not everyone in the Sparks community drinks alcohol there. And no-one is as scary as Ron . |

See you all at the Assembly House then Thursday evening. Not sure I'm too worried about the support act but Sparks won't be coming on until 9:00 anyway. If possible, try to let anyone else you know that's going that's what we've decided to do. They might not be checking the Forum....(You know the ones on twitter that think a discussion is no more than five words long...LOL).
Now I just need to choose which lucky Sparks T-Shirt will be getting a special night out as well...... _________________ The fan formally known as kermit

It was great to catch up at the pub before and after another top show last night! I'm regretting having to shoot off early. I hope everyone got back home ok, and roll on the next gig! _________________ "but we can hear what others can't hear..." |

Good to see some regular happy faces after the gig albeit briefly. It was a brilliant show.
By the way, I thought you were looking well smart in your very rare Halfnelson T-Shirt Alex. I'm sure there must have been many envious eyes around!! _________________ The fan formally known as kermit

Met up with allydodd and other forum members at the Assembly House. But was unable to say goodbye to anyone i met before the gig due to my taxi arriving early outside the venue. |
