I hope for you that Sparks will get to Denmark. |
Thank you. Yeah, it would be nice if they go to some unfamiliar places on this tour. But if they don't announce a concert in Denmark, maybe I will go to Sweden:) |

I was wondering if they would consider going to Denmark. I think it's been like 36 or 37 years since their last visit:) |

I'm HOPING HOPING HOPING... for gig(s) in Sweden..
As it said "in countries around the world" (or something like that) it can't stop with just UK and Germany.
Hoping for any announcements soon for more countries and I hope ofcourse it'll include Sweden. |

At the Bush Hall concert, Russell said they were trying to arrange dates in Europe, over and above the ones fixed for Germany. The enthusiasm in his voice was obvious. I did detect a little apprehension which probably indicates its not turning out to be straightforward.
I'm not au fait with how the touring finance works. Evidently the impetus for the October leg of the UK tour by HMV was the instant success of the one-off Bush Hall show. I'm wondering whether securing the German gigs may have been dependant on instant advance sales for the UK tour.
History alone fails to make apparent how desperately keen cosmopolitan crooner Russell, and the fascinating farsighted fellow who is his brother, have been to take their music to different peoples across the globe. Hopefully, continued success of this slimmed down outfit may enable them to slip into places previously thought to be out of reach. |

Good catch Ruud, but unfortunately not. Seems to be some youth brass band playing Bach, Strauss and.. "Sparke", whoever the latter is.. |

Here's how Google translates it:
Sparks - Two Hands, One Mouth Tour (October 19, Concert Forward)
The brothers Russell and Ron Mael forms for 40 years the core of the cult band Sparks . Under the name of Half Nelson began her early 70s as a classic rock band with music a la The Who and The Kinks, and were discovered by Todd Rundgren. The duo creates his own world genres such as glam rock, power pop, synth pop, new wave, disco and electronics over the years came to the neighborhood.
They turn forty years after the release of their eponymous first album (1972) back to their essence: 1 vote (Russell) and 2 hands (Ron, keyboard). Ante Spit lyrics, falsetto voices, theatrical performance and catchy melodies. This cult group was / is a favorite and inspiration include Morrissey, Franz Ferdinand, Ramones, Depeche Mode, Def Leppard, Pixies and Arcade Fire. Sparks remained active all these years, and in 2009 received great praise for their 22th album, The Seduction of Ingmar Bergman , a radio musical about the filmmaker commissioned by the Swedish national radio.
Perhaps someone who speaks Dutch can figure out what "Ante Spit lyrics" should have translated to because "Ante Spit" does not sound favorable. |

"Spitant", (not ante spit) is a Flemish word not very widely used in Holland, although we do speak the same language. It means "bubbly", "lively" and not surprisingly; "sparkling".
Would be wonderful to see them in Belgium again. The last time they performed in Belgium was in 1981 for a 6-day tour of which half the gigs were cancelled due to lack of ticket sales. Luckily, I did attend the ones that did come off. |
