An awesome gig, the dancers on She Got Me Pregnant was really funny. Kimono was excellent, loved Talent Is An Asset and the extended Equator.... An excellent choice of encore too.... _________________ -Pete |

Hi everyone,
I was 15 in 1974 so KMH was an iconic album in my adolescent years and bought every vinyl release since (sometimes in different colours 'the things we do!). Big Beat and Introducing in my VI Form years, No 1 in Heaven, Whomp, Angst etc in my uni years (where I met Martin and Trevor at a Radio Stars gig back stage).... and on .. and on...
Sparks have weaved a quirky thread through my life, they were so cool I didn't get my head kicked in at the rough comp I went to, through Glam and Punk and new wave and new romantic they brought me originality and a smile. I lived in a northern backwater ok, its Scunthorpe, i'll admit it! the only band I saw was Motorhead in 1976 in our local pub and I had to go to Doncaster to see Ultravox! with John Foxx in 1977.
So Friday 20th March 2009, 35 years later, was my first opportunity to see them live, I couldn't understand why people were queuing from 3pm!!!! I'd never met a sparks fan before let alone stood in a queue full of them. Was like discovering a bunch of siblings I never knew I had. i wasn't going to let the opportunity pass me by so i brought along my little digital voice recorder and see if i could capture the evening, so in my countless miles of driving I can be taken back to the Forum. i was one row back just to the right of centre, very near the French people. ( now i know why I had to queue for 3 hrs) Wasn't sure of the morality of recording but as i see youtube stuff and recorded streams i thought I'd come out and share. Any problems let me know. I've had to split the set up into tracks as my free space doesn't allow bigger than 20mb uploads. if I can find somewhere else i'll upload the ECOTD set and the KMH set without edit. Ran out of memory for the encores am afraid.
I was chatting in the queue and realised not everyone had heard the 1974 bootleg so I've uploaded just the live tracks from that and I also found the early demoes which i've also uploaded.

One and a halfnelson (1974) http://www.freedrive.com/folder/209670
ATIWC demo http://www.freedrive.com/folder/166576
Just wanted to give something back to all those who posted vid and audio and pics from the 21 nights that i couldn't get to. I'd have gone to the first 7 if I had a different life. In fact I'd have gone to them all.
ps I only have a gig of download bandwidth which is creeping up already. If you can't download then be patient, I'm looking for another resting place for them and post the new address here. Any suggestions would be great. Thx _________________ I'm thinking, deeply thinking, hey what's it gonna be,

Miller, thank you so much!!
ECOTD live is marvellous, I don't remember being so moved and proud of my Sparks since the 21x21 performance of this gem, also recorded and posted here by another privileged user.
Also thanks for sharing your memories, I always love to read such things from people who are lucky to know Sparks since the '70s or '80s.
If you need storage space online, you can use Box.net (1 GB free storage, like Freedrive) or better Mediafire. _________________ Entertainment or art - one should know from the start |

Finally got to sign up to Photobucket and load my pix.
I don't make any great claims for them but they do contain the one where Russell puts a brotherly hand on Ron's shoulder while singing "In My Family".

Very much appreciated, as they really capture the atmosphere of the stage. Exotic Creatures definitely had an eerie feeling about it. |
