I'm conducting this poll because I'm troubled by just how often I think of Sparks in my day to day life. I'm rather an obsessive person anyway but really, since 21x21 hardly an hour goes by or even a half hour without them cropping up in my thoughts. I also find that I'll go to extraordinary lengths to bring the conversation around to the subject of Sparks, much to some of my friends' jaded amusement. Of course, real friends understand and are only too willing to get all aboard the Sparks train of thought.
P.S. I resisted putting anything shorter than every half hour... but, well, you know... _________________

I'd say: at work, at home, at play...
For me it's even more ridiculous, because I saw 21x21 (well, a part of it) only on CDPulse. And no, I'm not an obsessive person... On average, it must be maybe an hour or two, though there are days when it's easier to tell the quarters of an hour when I'm really absorbed by the same work, home and play. Sometimes I'm simply happy to have them back in my life thanks to this event (you know, people discover Sparks, then they take a break, then rediscover them and so on); sometimes I feel the same joy as everytime when I have something new to dig and explore, knowing that my interest won't wane after a few weeks.
As for friends, I do quite the same (including the long chatters before touching the topic), but there are too few people with whom I can talk about it. And at the same time I don't want to throw pearls before swine, you know what I mean; I can enjoy my Sparks all by myself. _________________ Entertainment or art - one should know from the start |

i think about them alot. because i just recently really discovered them.
so i am very excited with their music.
and listen to it alot.
i knew them long before, but not like this.
i was looking for the clip of "when do i get to sing my way" over the youtube, and then i discovered more of their music, and fell in love!
and i also think about them alot, because i am busy with searching and downloading all their albums.
(shhhhh...forget that i said the word "download" :))
i also did a tribute to the sparks in my blog, and posted posts with my words that are conected to their clips.
for example: i talked about the reasons that beautifull girls go with ugly boys.
and of course i put the video of ugly guys with beautifull girls :)
their lyrics give me a lot of inspiration and food for the brain... |

this was their only famous song in israel...and maybe also "this town"
so now you understand what took me so long to really discover them.

It was simple, I saw there your name written in Latin and googled it!
As for the letters, all hebrew letters look extremely mysterious to me, so I can't say much more at this point... At least I can see how "corina2" is spelled! :) _________________ Entertainment or art - one should know from the start |

i guees they look to you very square, comparing to the round english letters. |

Not necessarily square; I can read Cyrillic too and it's even more square. Hebrew letters seem always to me like being drawn carefully with some painting tools... or it's like having before my eyes various stylized Menorah lamps (so I didn't use the word "mysterious" for lack of a better one). _________________ Entertainment or art - one should know from the start |

did you ever see a handwrite in hebrew? it looks completly different than the print.
if we are speaking about jewish symbols and letters, i was surprised to see a link that shows that you can find all the hebrew letters in the "magen david" !

Right, handwriting looks different, but the mystery remains the same; here's how your link with Magen David illustrates it. I have no idea why I don't have such a feeling about Chinese letters, for example (and no, I can't read Chinese either). _________________ Entertainment or art - one should know from the start |

Now now, you people... You're not thinking of Sparks enough!
Actually, I just realised to think of Sparks every half hour I'd have to keep waking up in the middle of the night... or dream of them. Come to think of it, I do dream about them quite a lot, especially since 21x21. Normally I'm backstage having a chat with the boys or visiting Paris with them, then something stupid happens and the dream goes off track into some utter nonsense that isn't Sparks related but has something to do with horrific mundanities like thinking I'm back at school and have an exam or thinking I'm still going out with some awful ex-boyfriend. _________________

jill
maybe you dont feel the same with chinese letters, because you can see them more often than you see the rare hebrew letters, so it makes the chinese less mysterious.
and also the chinese doesnt have this holly and ancient connotatiom as the hebrew does.
in our replies to each other, we went far away from the original subject of the topic.
but still there is a connection : i made you forget about the sparks for a few seconds

"lady"
(may i call you only "lady" ?...)
sorry for going off the topic.
we got carried away with the conversation.
this is exactly what i was telling jill, that i made him forget about the sparks.
(by the way, why you didnt put in the poll an option of "all day long"?)
good night, its late here. |

@ Corina: exactly :)
@ Lady: Actually, dreaming about Sparks (while asleep, I mean) would make an interesting topic. Do Sparks fans have dreams about them? And if yes, what are people seeing? I kinda hope such dreams won't happen to me too soon, because I suspect it would be something not too nice about music stores and chasing albums... _________________ Entertainment or art - one should know from the start |
