Just watched the show online. Oh how I wished I was there!! Russell was magnificent. Ron was, er.....well.....Ron. The audience sang along to every word. I sang along too. I'll even admit to a wee cry during Slowboat - I really had forgotten what an utterly beautiful song that is. Every other song a joy from start to finish. Roll on 9pm tomorrow. Oh, and by the way Russ, great suit!!!

Just watched too!

Oh it makes be want to jump on a plane right now! It was great in my dark basement, big screen and big speakers ... it must have been even more fantastic there!

Great start Russell and Ron and the band, I can't wait for the rest but I just want it to go on forever.

Can't wait for the 'all request Friday' for second half of Exotic Creatures of the Deep show.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Oh yes, the fan requests! It's like a dream come true.

Geez, I'm bursting with comments but I need to save them all for the Popshifter issue.

Requests? I thought I heard Russell say that. Did he say something about being able to request on the website?

That's what I heard but can't find anything yet! But I am just too impatient!

Yes, but I am not sure if it is for everyone, or fan club members, or what.

By the way, what did he say about hairspray? I could only make out part of it. . .

I don't think it was just favourite rare tracks but from all the tracks.

I wondered if they would do something like this. They can't spend months rehearsing all these songs for just one outing so I guess we need to take the opportunity to request songs we may never hear live again!

He had trouble with his hair. He said that was the trouble with buying cheap hairspray from Boots (a British pharmacy chain).

That was UTTERLY FANTASTIC.
Hightlights? Too many - Biology 2 worked amazingly well live, Russell even kept the "Run out of breath" ad lib in from the orignial.

Bring on the next 20!

And hello to all the wonderful friendly people I met in the Edward. What a great bunch you are. See you tomorrow!

i loved tonight and stood with a tear in my eye at the sheer otherworldliness of it all. those weird songs by that weird band that i used to listen to on my own on my cheap record player all those years ago. i was sure i was the only sparks fan in the world!
slowboat was the highlight for me and i've always loved the song. it was funny when the audience all shouted lisa's "oooh, let's do it" bit in biology 2.
england was a big surprise (!) and was the only time that russell struggled a bit with the right lyrics in the right place.
it was wonderful and i look forward to the next 20!

That was a great show, especially when Russell said we were cool for liking the 'obscure early albums'. And the programme is pretty impressive too. 'England' was a nice suprise - I though that might be turning up later on.

Just got home. Utterly, utterly brilliant! I was stood almost directly in front of Ron for the whole show. I think what impressed me the most was how much Ron and Russell were enjoying themselves. They've said before in interviews about how much they appreciate the reaction they get from a London audience, but I'm sure that even they weren't expecting what they got tonight. I don't know the venue well enough to guage how full it actually was, but it certainly seemed pretty rammed to me. Everybody seemed to be singing along all through the show - there was a girl who could only have been in her early 20s just to the right of me, and she was word-perfect too.

Ron was even "singing along" himself at various points - during High C he looked directly into the audience and mouthed "somewhere thereabouts". Superb stuff!

Highlights? It was all brilliant, but to me Simple Ballet and No More Mr Nice Guys were outstanding.

My signed poster is really cool too. It says "To Mark - All The Best From Sparks 2008!" AAMOI, does anyone know how many Golden Tickets were sold? Everywhere I looked there seemed to be other people with these hanging round their necks.

Haven't had time to listen to the free CD yet - it's called "Islington N1". Quick shower, very large scotch, and then I'll give it a spin.

Woofer tomorrow - hurrah!

Watched the video stream from here in Canada. The video stopped at started most of the time but the audio was constant. Highlights for me were when they rocked out during "Big Bands", and of course, "No More Mr. Nice Guys". I noticed no mistakes...until "England" when I think Russell messed up...but who cares. The band was excellent and everyone did a superb job.
