IMO, "Slowboat" is there most romantic song. Second choice is the ever haunting "The Louvre." And yes, these are my favorite Sparks albums, ever. |

I Wanna Hold Your Hand, better then the original.
Slowboat - this song can cause a religous experience!
The slower and romantic songs on Pulling Rabbits which I adore very much.
I think they could easliy compose more softer songs (they hardly succed with sounding "aggressive") on the forthcoming album. |

Seems to be a popular choice but Slowboat is still a classic.
When I'm with you, I Want To Hold Your Hand are also worth a mention. |

Yes, Slowboat is a classic!
I remember, a few years ago, an american girl was looking for the song A walk Down Memory Lane... for his wedding.
Nice romance... |

Falling In Love With Myself Again
The perfect romantic song for arrogant, self-centred egoists - which I'm not, of course.
P.S. Don't say you're going all slushy on us, St. Monicant ? Ah, how sweet! |

Has to be Rosebud; who but a true romantic would comfort his fiancee, freshly mangled in a car wreck, with the words " there is beauty in pain"?
My kind of guy! _________________ You see a peanut, and the day's off to a good start. You witness some soil, and it's a jamboree..... |

Let's not forget that Here in Heaven is, essentially, the story of Romeo and Juliet, the second-greatest love story in history.
Let me amend my choice somewhat:
Most Romantic Songs By Decade:
70's: Here in Heaven
80's: Kiss Me Quick
90's: Let's Go Surfing
00's: I Married Myself
Oh, and the greatest love story in history?
Nabokov's Lolita, of course.

Lolita? Do you have a penchant for Young Girls, Marlowe?!!
Here in Heaven is, I think, one of the finest songs Ron has ever written. Sweet and poignant, it seems humerous at first, but is actually gut-wrenchingly sad. Russell's voice is positively heart-breaking when he sings the line "Second thoughts- first I broke my back."
But romantic? Juliet wants to be with her Romeo for all eternity; the woman in this song is cold-hearted and scheming. She reneges on her part of the deal and watches her lover fall to his death over a cliff. Doubtless, the whole suicide pact was her idea to begin with, and she already had a rich ugly guy lined up as a replacement. Meanwhile her lover is condemned to an eternity of heartache and regret. Nasty. _________________ You see a peanut, and the day's off to a good start. You witness some soil, and it's a jamboree..... |

You have already admitted that you don't have all Sparks' albums. Therefore you not really in a position to make an informed choice! |
