Of all the various posts on these boards about what we THINK Sparks "should" do(if they were able)..which would be the most popular option? |

I would love to see the entire promo video selection. That would be soooo cool! Mind you, the cookbook could be interesting. _________________ Carol wears Cacheral..... |

I guess most of us already have most of those promo videos. Probably not in the best quality, but alas. Anyhow these promos already exists and anyone with enough patience is able to get them all - anyhow they have been published, it is only a matter of somebody rich or crazy enough to get/buy the rights to publish a dvd.
An other point is Sparks unreleased material. If you take a peek at http://www.copyright.gov/records/cohm.html you will find unreleased Sparks stuff we never heard of before.. That is really the Holy Grail - now for something completely different.. - as long as that stuff is never officially published (which means with the (written and autographed) approval of the authors (Ron and Russell) there is truely NO way to get this material to the surface... Of course it is a sentimental journey to get all those promo videos, but there is so much more.. |

It was a really difficult thing to choose... :) But I voted for the promo videos. There’ve been so many in over 30 years, isn’t it just time to release them?? I was very much surprised to find out that Sparks have no video collection yet. |

The Halfnelson demos got my vote, although it was a close call between them and the promo video DVD. Would there be any barriers (publishing rights or something) preventing either from being released? _________________ "but we can hear what others can't hear..." |

@CALI - I actually have a cassette recording where Russell gives an receipe, if that is what you want to call it. It sounds hot and chocolate like - seriously talking about a dessert he use to make.
As for Alex and his ideas, yes we greedy fans want everything we can lay our hands on with due respect. For me, as long as they can eat they(SPARKS) can continue to make music and I can continue to have a bit of hope for the world of music and my own sanity.
I'm still debating over my vote. Besides, I am American and when we cast a vote it is a secret ballot or was that a secret ballet? (as long as the ballet is simple I will take that too) |

Isn't it strange that no-one voted for Mai-The Psychic Girl or the cookbook.
I've actually used the only recipe printed from the "promised" cookbook...and it was Russell's "Stuffed Tomatoes"(NPI) ..I can't recall where it was printed up..so it was either NME,Record Mirror & Disc...or Judy(I had a girlfriend who used to save me Sparks' cuttings, which I put in a small valise...Oh to get into my parents' attic..the treasures that lie undiscovered!!).
Anyway I used the recipe several times as it was a tasty, quick meal...and as it consisted of scooped out beefsteak tomatoes stuffed with a mixture of cooked spiced minced beef, capsicums, chopped onions and the tomatoes' innards baked at gas mark 6 in an oven until the tomato flesh crinkles.
Also it is suitable for vegetarians...except for the mince!!! |

I did ask the question about if anyone else recalled this article(it had Ron's recipe for a pomade too)but it seems to have gotten lost several transitions ago(at least the last time the boards were updated there was the opportunity to save "archive" posts). So shall we petition for a Sparks' cookbook...or shall we just invent our own recipes...and give them vaguely Sparkish titles(maybe another night..I'm off to bed now!!) |

Sparks are definately way long overdue an official video anthology, so I would vote for that as my No.1 choice

I want it all, but if I have to choose, I'd go for the complete video selection. Then there is the risk of realising I have already seen them all on YouTube, so a copy of the original, Eiffel Tower surfing Woofer in Tweeter's Clothing would probably top that.
Besides, I still haven't got a copy of "Introducing"...
