Hi, I'm new to this forum but a friend brought to my attention that you had a spare ticket for London. I'm desperately trying to find one since it's the last show of the FFS tour I will be able to attend. So I was wondering if that ticket is still available ?
Cheers x |

Any ideas for a pub to meet up at beforehand? I'm guessing there are several known to us seeing how often Sparks have played at the Forum! _________________ "but we can hear what others can't hear..." |

Hi Spyke,
When I've been to see Sparks at The Forum over the years I've always met fans in The Bull & Gate pub which is next door to the venue. See you tomorrow for more FFS. :-) |

I've also heard some fans are meeting in a pub called PINEAPPLE (this is true!) which is pretty close to The Forum as well. |

I have a spare ticket for downstairs if anyone wants to buy it off me at Pineapple pub, would be nice to meet up with other fans first if I'm all on my lonesome! :) _________________ CHICKS D•I•G METAPHORS |

Well, that was pretty good! For me, it was everything that the Troxy gig a few months ago wasn't. The six of them sounded so tight after lots of gigs, the venue was excellent*, the sound was great, at least, where I was up in the balcony. Inevitably, the biggest cheer of the night was for This Town - ho hum...
*The only thing that spoiled the gig for some of the more enthusiastic fans was the neo-Nazi bouncers who kept telling people to sit down - because they were dancing to the music, FFS! (see what I did there?) Yes, I know it's downstairs for dancing and upstairs is seated, but for Christ's sake! People were having a fantastic time and were dancing - at a rock concert! Imagine that. I've been going to gigs at The Forum since before it was called The Forum, and tonight was the first time I've ever seen that sort of buzzkill from the bouncers - for shame! |

Yup, SH was great. Though it did mean no Achoo, which I would have loved to hear. However I thought every Sparks track sounded fab with FF backing them ''; it has really left me wanting more of this combo (even more than the awesome new material) _________________ Better shave half your face at a time |

...forgive the follow up to my own post. But the more I think about it the more I think that SH was an odd choice for FFS at the Forum. Great track that it is, it is from Sparks' least successful era in the UK (ie several years after No 1 and many years before Gratuitous Sax), and not released as a single in any territory (to my knowledge?)
Don't get me wrong, I love it and know it is highly regarded by a number of bands, but I might have expected one of the following to be higher up the potential FFS set list:
Amateur Hour (or most anything from Kimono)
Beat the Clock or Tryouts
NTYBOME (or most anything from Propaganda)
Or possibly something from LB, HYL or ECOFD
No use trying to second guess these guys I suppose! _________________ Better shave half your face at a time |

Yes, it was another great gig. I assumed that SH was chosen partly because it's one of FF's favourite tracks, like Achoo.
Really good to catch up with familiar (and not-so familiar!) faces again, and hopefully we can do it all again soon! _________________ "but we can hear what others can't hear..." |

Yet another fantastic gig by FFS. There's certainly been some treats in amongst these shows. And, the band have been great throughout. Feeling spoilt and worn out with the excitement, I must confess. How R&R and the guys can pour out so much energy night after night, look great, and remain so urbane , while heaving cases from city to city, baffles me.
Very much enjoyed seeing so many likeable fans before, during and after the gigs. |

Check out the playlist called Sparks By Franz Ferdinand on Spotify. Features both Achoo and SH along with some other slightly surprising, but nonetheless great choices. |

Some good choices. Not sure if it would fit into the FFS format so well. But I have always had a soft spot for "Pulling Rabbits" Live.. "Change" could be interesting as a duet as well. Maybe that is the Franz playlist list of possibles. _________________ I Think that went very Well |

Interesting playlist, maybe it is their choice of go to songs? No You Girls appears on the Franz Ferdinand by Sparks playlist which they played at the The Forum too! _________________ Some might find me borderline attractive from afar... |
