I finally got to read this interview, and it is a complete winner! Thank you, Toughest Girl, for posting the link. Russell really put into words the way I see his approach to Ron's lyrics. He inhabits the character, and there is no 'nudge nudge wink wink' about it, for example and off the top of my head, in Good Morning/Hasta Mañana Monsieur, or in I Bought The Mississippi River, or in Here In Heaven, or even in Tips For Teens. He expressed how true they have stayed to their dedication to their art. My favorite line is when Russell is asked about discussing lyrics with Ron. He responds, "Well, we tend not to talk to each other." Of course the context tells you so much more, but I thought that was really funny. If you haven't read this, do! _________________ better drop the requirement that everything be great |
