What a great interview, the lad is obviously a huge fan, intelligent and able to think on his feet as the interview progressed. Would love to know how he got it arranged.

To be honest, I was too...he has 31 followers and he's ten years old...perhaps think about those that have a little longer history, have written and broadcast about them for years?

Sorry, I'll go back to being an adult now. :)

Have you asked them for an interview Monte ? If so did you get a 'we'll think about it', or just a polite 'no' ?

I think it's very refreshing to see much younger fans showing such dedication, I truly felt happy for this kid.

That would also be great to see them on Monte's show too of course :)

No, I haven't asked them...and now I feel like a big baby. Of course I'm happy for the kid....I should probably delete my post, I'm not really a big baby!! :)

That's the right attitude completely...I'll delete my post.

The way I look at it, it's kind of a complex question...on the one hand, of course it would be great to have them on. On the other, I don't really feel a burning desire to have any mysteries solved or anything...my show is all about the really neat fan perspectives, and I don't think there should be a right or wrong, to tell you the truth! They are artists of the highest level, and they choose to keep that mystery in their work. I respect that.

Now, would it be great to have them? Of course! Even if just to talk about what they're up to now, etc. But it's not what motivates me day to day. Let me really emphasize: they've given me a LOT for a long time, they owe me absolutely nothing! So I apologize for my earlier post.

Monte

This is a really good interview, but it's not brand new.... I came across it quite a few months ago, l remember because of the lights going out at the end!! I think it's great though that the interviewer is such a young guy (l feel like a piece of crumbling dust by comparison!)...... Sparks deserve a BIG new young audience to take over from the old guard!

Oh it's a bit disappointing... Can't wait to see/hear a new interview again.

Monte, this may be your chance ;)

I think Ron and Russell are really interested in their younger fans, at least Russell is. Whenever he is interviewed, he makes a point of talking about the new, younger audience. And since he does display some characteristics of Peter Pan syndrome, it's no surprise. That may be true of Ron as well, but I don't think he talks about the young fans as much. Also, he doesn't talk as much.
